Baptist evangelist, speaker, apologist dies
Anis A. Shorrosh, longtime Alabama Baptist evangelist, speaker and apologist, died May 13. He was 85.
Shorrosh served as a pastor in Jordan from 1959 to 1966. He then served for 50 years as an international evangelist in more than 80 countries and authored 10 books. Shorrosh’s ministry, the Anis Shorrosh Evangelistic Association, focused on reaching out to Muslims and Christians worldwide.
He held degrees from New Orleans Seminary; Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia; and Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tennessee.
Shorrosh was preceded in death by his son, Steven. He is survived by his wife, Nell; three children; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. (TAB)
