Southern Baptist leaders preaching in area churches while in Birmingham

On June 9 — the Sunday before the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) annual meeting — several local church pulpits will have special guest speakers.

Want to go hear one? Here’s a list of who will be where (as provided to The Alabama Baptist):

J.D. Greear, SBC president and pastor of The Summit Church, Durham, North Carolina, will be preaching at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, Birmingham. Service times are 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Ronnie Floyd, president of the SBC Executive Committee, will be speaking at First Baptist Church, Trussville. Traditional worship is at 9:15 a.m.; contemporary worship is at 10:45 a.m.

Al Mohler, president of  Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, will be preaching at The Church at Brook Hills, Birmingham. Service times are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Adam Greenway, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, will be preaching at Liberty Baptist Church, Chelsea. Service times are 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Chuck Kelley, president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will be preaching at Lakeside Baptist Church, Birmingham, at the 9:30 a.m. service only.

Jeff Iorg, president of Gateway Seminary, will be speaking at First Baptist Church, Jemison, at a men’s breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and then preaching in the 11 a.m. service. (TAB)
