State convention officers re-elected for second term

 

Alabama Baptists gathered at Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, Nov. 18-19 for the 181st annual meeting of the Alabama Baptist State Convention. A total of 1,088 messengers registered for the convention.

All officers serving the convention were unanimously re-elected without opposition for a second one-year term. They are: president, Joe Godfrey, pastor of First Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove; first vice president, Henry Cox, pastor of First Baptist Church, Bay Minette; and second vice president, Roger Willmore, pastor of First Baptist Church, Boaz.

Also re-elected to serve were: recording secretary, Mary Sue Bennett; statistical secretary, Bobby DuBois; and registration secretary, Billy Austin. Bennett and DuBois are employed by the State Board of Missions. Austin heads the Alabama Baptist Retirement Centers.
