In my ministry as a pastor and a director of missions for more than 50 years, I have supported Baptist World Alliance (BWA) and still do.
The book, “The Life of Baptists in the Life of the World,” edited by Walter B. Shurden and printed by Broadman Press in 1985, contains the great sermons delivered at Baptist World Congresses starting in London, England, in 1905 and going through 1980. Some of those great Southern Baptists who delivered sermons are as follows: A.T. Robertson, E.Y. Mullins, George W. Truett, C. Oscar Johnson, Theodore F. Adams and Billy Graham.
I, as a Southern Baptist, will never turn my back on BWA nor on the great leaders and supporters of it. Should the Southern Baptist Convention pull out of the Baptist World Alliance, such action could have an adverse effect on our International Mission Board missionaries serving in many foreign countries.
Long live Baptist World Alliance.
