Tammy Trent is no stranger to reinventing herself. “Stronger,” Trent’s second album since the tragic death of her husband in 2001 and sixth release since her debut in 1995, is an 11-song departure — for the better — from the funky soul-pop of her last album, “I See Beautiful.” Gone are that record’s hip-hop overtones. The result is a more adult contemporary sound, a style Trent seems more comfortable with and suited for. It’s a fresh step and instantly listenable.
