Union Chapel Baptist in Ethelsville celebrates 125th anniversary

Union Chapel Baptist Church, Ethelsville, celebrated its 125th anniversary, Oct. 18, with an afternoon community-wide event that included games, hot dogs and chili. Pastor Alvin Holman accepted special recognitions given to the church by Lyle Dease, director of missions for Pickens Baptist Association, and David Nelson, a commissioner for the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission. Special music was provided by Jesse Reece, youth minister of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Ethelsville, along with his son, Saylor.
