Two WorldReach Missions participants were injured in a car accident March 11.
WorldReach Missions is a missionary agency of Valleydale Baptist Church, Birmingham, seeking to fulfill Christ’s command in Acts 1:8 to share the gospel in its own area and across the nation and world.
Bob Waters, international missions coordinator, was treated for a broken leg and minor injuries and released from the hospital.
An overseas missionary (unnamed for security reasons) suffered a severe compound fracture in one leg and underwent multiple surgeries. At press time, he was set to be released from the hospital and will spend several weeks in rehabilitation.
The accident occurred when a vehicle struck the men as they were unloading baggage from their vehicle at the airport, pinning them between the two vehicles.
The missionary most likely will not be able return to the field for several months, according to Saint Green, servant mobilization pastor of the Birmingham Baptist Association church.
Calvin Kelly is pastor of Valleydale.
