Voice on alcohol

Voice on alcohol

I appreciate the stand that local Baptist leaders in Houston County are taking against electronic bingo.

However, they say they support economic development like Country Crossing, which would include new lounges and expansion of alcohol sales. This development was moved from Coffee County, partially due to the dry status of most of the county.

Do Alabama Baptists have a stance against new and existing alcohol sales? Thanks to ALCAP, we do from the statewide level, but we need a stronger voice from area leaders. Isn’t the influence of alcohol on our communities at least as strong as the influence of gambling?
