Warren B. Wall Sr., pastor of New Friendship Baptist Church, Red Bay, died Aug. 21. He was 82-years-old.
Wall graduated from Stetson University in Deland, Fla., in 1949. After earning his bachelor’s, he then attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
After serving as pastor for 15 years, he served as a prison chaplain for more than 30 years in Florida and Louisiana. In 1984, Wall was named Chaplain of the Year for both Florida and the United States by the National Chaplains’ Association of the United States and Canada.
After retiring from the chaplaincy, he moved to Red Bay where he served at New Friendship.
His survivors include his wife, Florine Meredith Wall, five children, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
