The Great Commission commands us to take unsaved people to being saved people living in the power of the Scriptures and God’s purposes. This presentation attempts to do as Matthew 28:18–20 commands us and teaches that the Christian life is a life of adventure.
– God’s love is unlimited (John 3:16–17; 1 John 4:19).
There are many things that promise longevity, but there is nothing that compares to the “unlimited love of God” promised by God Himself. His love is far-reaching as it moves beyond our sinfulness to draw us toward Him to a regenerated life.
– There is no other way to find and have life (John 14:6; 1 John 2:15–17; Rom. 3:10–23).
There are many voices that call to us for a “good” life, but there is one voice that calls to us for the “victorious” life in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way one can experience a regenerated life.
– Trust in Jesus through faith (Eph. 2:8–9).
There are many things we can do ourselves while on Earth, but when pertaining to eternity beyond this life, we cannot find security on our own. God provides us an avenue of grace (that we cannot earn or purchase) that when we take it by faith in Jesus, we are gloriously saved.
– Invest your life in God’s purpose (Eph. 2:10–22; 1 John 2:28–29).
Salvation from the condemnation of God (Rom. 5:1; 8:1) through a personal relationship with Jesus is God’s ultimate purpose for us. But His purpose also extends to a life on Earth that includes spiritual growth, encouragement, sowing seeds of salvation and administering grace and mercy. When we declare our surrender to Christ through baptism, we also declare our surrender to invest our life in God’s purposes.
– Live in the power of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:16–26; 1 John 5:1–5).
The Christian life is a life lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. It is in this life that we experience joy and fruitfulness honoring to God and learn how we can live as overcomers in a world attempting to overcome us. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we learn to walk by a faith that empowers us with confidence to walk in Christ daily.
