‘Whosoever will’

‘Whosoever will’

From my understanding, when the hippies of the Jesus movement became Christians, they wanted to find church homes. When they visited churches, the people told them, “Get a haircut and wear nice clothes and we will let you in.”

Some of these young people did, but most didn’t and started a new denomination called “The Vineyard.” When we become so high and mighty that we become arrogant and stop searching people from finding Jesus Christ, we stop being a church and start becoming a country club. Jesus said whosoever will may come. I will once in a while wear blue jeans at my church, and sometimes I will dress up. But to my heavenly Father, He wants me to fellowship with other believers and love everybody no matter what they wear. We should encourage people to be more like Jesus and trust the Holy Spirit to work on and in them. Jesus took us just the way we were and He still is.

We need to do a better job at discipleship and encouraging people not to wear something revealing.
