Shades Mountain Church, Vestavia Hills, anniversary

Shades Mountain Church, Vestavia Hills, will celebrate its 100th anniversary Sept. 18. The celebration service will be at 9:30 a.m. There will be a New Wind reunion from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in the 4th floor concourse. A Century of Song will be at 6 p.m. in the worship center. A fellowship featuring 100 Cakes for 100 Years will follow. Everyone is invited to tour the Centennial Center, a collection of exhibits, films and memorabilia, which retrace the church’s 100-year journey. The Center will be open before and after the celebration service and A Century of Song, as well as from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19–22, including late hours from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 21.
