I read The Alabama Baptist newspaper regularly, and it appears that one of the regular columns has changed over the years.
I think that in the past, the World of Religion column appropriately contained short articles of broad religious nature in other countries.
Now the column exclusively reports problems of religious persecution abroad, including burning of church facilities; arrests, beatings or killings of Christians; and outlandish legal attacks.
Granted that Christian persecution abounds, can we not read about some positive news on the advances of Christianity abroad?
The local TV stations always fill their news time with burglaries, arson, car chases and killings to elevate their TV ratings.
Do the writers who gather articles for this column want to follow suit with negative news?
Or maybe the column name should be changed to something like Religious Evil Abroad. Just some equality would be nice.
