As Karen Gosselin and the choir of seventh through 12th graders gathered at Shocco Springs on March 14, they all knew they were staring down the barrel of a stormy weekend.
“Vacation Bible School isn’t just for kids — teens and adults need to meet Jesus too,” said Patty Burns, VBS strategist for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
“We’re determined to lean into the Lord because we know He’s gracious,” said Chris Baker, pastor of Summit Life Church in Whitefish, Montana. “We know it’s no surprise to Him — He’s sovereign over all of us.”
Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief teams are hard at work in Selmer, Tennessee, and in Alabama’s Colbert and Lauderdale counties following a devastating set of storms that moved across the Midwest and the South in the past week.

Two Alabama Baptist churches sustained damage in the storms last night (March 15) — Calera Baptist from a tornado, and Mignon Baptist in Sylacauga from flooding. Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief teams are now at work around the state.
