Bible Reading Marathons scheduled around National Day of Prayer

Alabamians will gather again soon at locations around the state to read the Bible around the clock over their cities in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer on May 3.

Interested in getting involved? Check out the information for your local Bible Reading Marathon:

• Birmingham — Starting Thursday, May 3, 9 a.m. and ending Sunday, May 6, 5 p.m. Held at East 59 Vintage and Café at 7619 First Avenue North. For more information, visit libertypark.org/biblemarathon.

• Montgomery — Starting Thursday, May 3, 8:30 a.m. and ending Sunday, May 6, 8:30 a.m. Held at the State Capitol building. For more information, visit hisvessel.org/bible-reading.

• Oneonta — Starting Thursday, May 3, 8 a.m. and ending Sunday, May 6, 8:30 a.m. Held at the Blount County Courthouse. For more information, visit the Facebook page: Oneonta Blount County Bible Reading Marathon.

• Ozark — Starting Sunday, April 29, 3 p.m. and ending May 3. Held on the Dale County Courthouse lawn. Volunteers needed for nighttime hours. For more information, call Dale Association at 334-774-2713.

• Troy — Starting Sunday, April 29 with music and prayer at 6 p.m. and Bible reading at 7 p.m. and ending May 3, noon. Held in downtown Troy on the square. For more information, call Salem-Troy Association at 334-566-1538.
