Altoona First Baptist Church is seeking a full time or bi-vocational pastor. The candidate shall be Southern Baptist in faith, mature in the Lord, bible believer who is knowledgeable in the word, has the desire to equip individuals to become faithful followers of Jesus, and who can lead our church in reaching people in our community.
A formal education with a preference towards seminary training is desired. Age is not a determining factor.
The qualifications for the pastor shall be as written and set forth in the New Testament I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The candidate must agree with the Southern Baptist faith and message and support the Cooperative Program. The candidate must pass a criminal, financial, and sexual misconduct background check. The candidate must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. The candidate must have leadership, life and ministry experience. The candidate must also lead the church in planning, organizing and directing.
