Disturbed by article

I am e-mailing regarding the front-page article titled “Excuse me?” I am very disturbed by this article. It does not appear to be in any way sarcastic, which is just scary.

Is this paper really advocating that people try to scare away newcomers to church and make them feel unwelcome so that they will not come back?

I can’t believe this is the message we are trying to send other Christians, that we need to scare new people off. That is contrary to what the Bible teaches.

If you could, please explain this to me.

If this article appears to be preaching what I hope it is not, I will ask that you cancel my subscription to The Alabama Baptist.
