I am writing in response to the article “You Are the Man” written by Bob Terry in the March 1 issue. I voted for President Donald Trump in the last presidential election. I voted for him over Hillary Clinton because I think she is one of the most wicked candidates to ever run for office. I do think character matters. I felt like a vote for a “third” party was a vote for Clinton.
I don’t think you have the right to “call out” evangelicals and say they are either denying or defending the president’s behavior.
I said character matters when Bill Clinton was president and I think character matters now. I believe some, not all, of the allegations against our current president. If he was doing some of these things in office, as Clinton was, I would say the same thing now as I said then: “He needs to resign.”
Quit slamming evangelicals and saying they are defending him or denying anything has happened. You nor I know all that goes on behind closed doors with spiritual advisers.
Thank you for the work you do with The Alabama Baptist. I just think this editorial is off-base in several ways.
