The Girls in Action (GAs) at First Baptist Church, Fairview, raised $517 for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at their Wrapped in Love gift-wrapping fundraiser Dec. 10.
Debbie Keaton, Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) director for First, Fairview, said the 10 girls worked “tirelessly” wrapping gifts brought in by church and community members.
After a morning of measuring, cutting and taping wrapping paper, the GAs went to the home of Gethel Vickery, a 93-year-old church member. They decorated Vickery’s Christmas tree, and she made “homemade goodies” for them to enjoy.
Keaton said she was proud to see that the girls have such a love for missions. “The future of the WMU at [First, Fairview] is definitely bright,” she said.
