When it comes to dancing as a form of praise, the Bible does not say David danced in the Temple. Priests did, however, slaughter animals there. The point isn’t whether our “sensibilities” or traditions are offended by forms of praise, but whether God likes it.
Psalm 150 says to praise Him with trumpet, harp, timbrel, dance, organs, stringed instruments and loud cymbals. I’d guess God likes it.
The point was raised in a recent letter that dancing what someone else has programmed, isn’t worship. But we do the same thing when we sing a hymn or chorus and when the choir sings. If that song is worship in our heart, then it’s worship, to God. How can anyone know what’s in the heart of the dancer, other than the dancer and God?
And when it comes to worship, we’re not the audience anyway.
Romans 14:4 (NIV) says, “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?”
