Friendly Christians

Friendly Christians

The editorial in the March 12 issue — “How Much People Care” — really brought back memories for me. I was raised by my parents, a Methodist clergyman and his wife, to be a Methodist in South Carolina but got married to a Baptist in Alabama. I belong to a church now that has its roots in Kenneth Hagin Ministries, based in Tulsa, Okla. Therefore I have been in churches all of my life. I can certainly identify with people leaving a church because of unfriendliness.

True Christians everywhere are naturally friendly. They do not think twice before speaking to a visitor in church on Sunday morning. If a friend or acquaintance gets sick, a true Christian either visits him or talks to him over the telephone. True Christians can show people they care in a number of ways. Any little gesture of friendliness or kindness will make a world of difference to anybody whether they are a church visitor or a regular church member.
