I can agree with what most of the article “Biblical principles important for law on immigration” in the June 7 issue of The Alabama Baptist says.
What I can’t agree on is giving amnesty to lawbreakers, and that is exactly what this legislation does.
The article also laments about breaking families up. I don’t know the number that is already broken up because they still reside outside the country while the husband works here and sends money home.
Also I cannot buy the argument about breaking families up when that was not a concern for the immigrants who legally entered this country through Ellis Island years ago.
If a family member had a communicable disease, they were sent back home.
How many families were broken up that way or does nobody care?
I don’t believe most people are against immigration as they are against illegal immigration, which also then becomes a matter of national security.
