When Eliud Kipchoge arrived home in Nairobi, Kenya, after running 26.2 miles in 1:59:40 in a carefully orchestrated event in Vienna, Austria, fellow Christian Kenyans celebrated the long-distance runner’s accomplishment. Kenya is more than 80% Christian and Kenyans called Kipchoge a Christian role model. Kipchoge is the world record holder in the marathon (2:01:39) but the run in Austria will not count as a record because of the experimental nature of the run. (RNS/TAB)
