Ministry Tip — Stay Active with Other Pastors

By Pastor Greg Hyche

The role of a pastor is filled with many eternal rewards and earthly joys. There is no greater joy as a pastor than to lead someone to Christ and to disciple them in the faith.

However, as much as ministry is encouraging, it also can be very emotionally draining.

Associational events

One way to encourage other pastors as they serve is to attend associational and Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) events and trainings.

A pastor needs ongoing fellowship and training in order to remain effective in ministry.

We need the strength of other pastors and those that have gone before us to sharpen our ministry skills.

Associational leaders and SBOM provide leadership and educational benefits that can better equip us to be relevant.

The benefits of our attendance and participation on difficult days in ministry may be the only encouragement we have. Be active and pursue connections.
