It has been several years since you removed Scripture from John 8 from the front page of The Alabama Baptist — the newspaper sent to virtually every Southern Baptist home in the state. I remember reading your reasons for removing the verse back then, and I did not think any of them were valid.
Today, as I glanced at the paper on my table, I thought about how lovely the stained glass cross looked with the blue border and remembered again that verse “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”
I am not sure what influenced you to remove Scripture from the front page, but I ask that you consider returning Scripture to the front page. Surely Scripture is more important for us to see than the words “The most widely circulated state Baptist newspaper.”
