“Samford continues flourishing through academic excellence, campus development, financial stewardship and faith formation. Embracing a Christ-centered mission while innovating curriculum across 10 undergraduate and graduate schools, Samford prepares students to pursue their passions and impact the world — for God, for learning, forever,” Samford said in a news release on the report.

The university’s 2025 Annual Report highlights “a remarkable year accentuated by student engagement and prestigious recognitions from The Wall Street Journal and The Princeton Review, which underscore Samford’s vision of becoming the premier choice among national Christian universities,” Samford added.
Among Samford’s key achievements highlighted in the report from 2025:
• Celebrated enrollment reaching an all-time high of 6,324 — including a record 1,156 first-year students — as demand for the Samford experience continues soaring.
• Grew the university’s endowment beyond a half-billion dollars, closing the year at $539.7 million.
• Capped $300 million in transformative construction projects by opening Gaston and Mann Halls, adding 512 beds that enhance Samford’s profile as a preeminent residential campus.
• Launched the Mann Institute for Christian Faith and Learning, creating world-class theological programming through an $11 million endowment from the late alumnus and benefactor Marvin Mann.
• Ranked No. 3 in the nation for Career Preparation by The Wall Street Journal, along with No. 5 for Most Recommended and No. 7 for Student Learning Opportunities.
• Saw Cumberland School of Law ranked No. 5 by The Princeton Review for Best Quality of Life, and Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing recognized among nation’s Best Online Nursing Master’s Programs.
• Selected Costa Rica to establish a new international study center — known as Finca de Samford — emphasizing a serve-and-learn model.
• Posted the NCAA’s third-highest score in Graduation Success Rate.
• Celebrated the university’s 92.18% freshmen-to-sophomore retention rate that once again dramatically surpasses the nationwide retention average of 68%, according to National Student Clearinghouse data.
